Yamaha is proud to announce the arrival of not one, but two new 9.9hp Four Stroke models, the F9.9 mariner outboard engine and the special High Thrust version, the FT9.9.

Yamaha F9.9 Outboard Engine Features and Benefits:

Based on the technically advanced Yamaha F8 model that has already proved so popular since its own launch, they are the smallest and most economical 4-stroke outboards in their category. In fact, they’re almost identical in size to the original Yamaha 2-stroke 9.9, making them the perfect choice for anyone wishing to move up to the convenience and economy of Yamaha’s 4-stroke technology, without adding extra bulk or weight to their transom.

Truly light in weight and with integral handles for easy portability, both models are feature-packed and very easy to use, offering the outstanding performance and reliability the world has come to demand and expect from Yamaha. They also lead their class with whisper-quiet operation, a frugal appetite for fuel and by offering the convenience of power tilt which is available on the FT model.

Featuring an in-line twin-cylinder design with SOHC, both models feature an enhanced 212cc aluminium block (15cc larger than the F8) and propellers which have been specially designed to give these engines smooth, reliable power and impressive torque.

The amazingly versatile FT (High Thrust) version uses a higher gear ratio and our patented Dual Thrust propeller to deliver the extra thrust and stopping power needed for heavier boats or where pushing and pulling power is more important than top speed. For the FT model, a long, multi-function tiller handle will be available, with convenient front-mounted engine controls, all designed to make this remarkable engine easier and simpler to use than ever.

Three Year Limited Warranty protects every Four Stroke Portable for pleasure use.

Yamaha's Shallow Water Drive (standard on all tiller handle models except F2.5) helps keep the prop and lower unit out of harm's way in shallow water.

The Microcomputer Ignition adjusts timing to maintain optimum engine performance, economy and power under all conditions (F6 and up).

The Fresh-water Flush Device enables you to flush the engine without starting the engine, for maximum convenience, durability, and long engine life. (Not available on F2.5 and F4).

Yamaha's Exclusive YDC-30 Alloy is the most corrosion-resistant base material in the industry. Used with Yamaha's Exclusive ACP-221 Paint Process, it provides a extra-tough barrier against corrosion. They’re both key components of our renowned Ultimate Corrosion Protection System that’s standard on all Yamaha Portable Four Stroke engines.

All Portable Yamaha four strokes meet all Federal EPA emission requirements. Our entire four stroke line-up (except the F4 and F2.5) has earned a California C.A.R.B. three-star rating for ultra-low emissions. Our F4 and F2.5 models have earned a two-star rating for very low emissions.
