Smartfind E5 406 MHz EPIRB (Auto Float Free housing) made by McMurdo is a new generation 406/121.5 MHz EPIRB designed to operate with the COSPAS-SARSAT international search and rescue system.
Meeting the demands of both commercial mariners and recreational boaters, the new McMurdo SMARTFIND heralds the arrival of the next generation in EPIRB technology and is supplied with a SOLAS approved Auto Float Free Housing and will automatically deploy the EPIRB when submerged to a depth lower than 2 - 4metres in the sea. IMO approved.
Comes with a unique carrysafe bracket and a high brightness LED locator light. Once activated, it will transmit for a minimum of 48 hours. Housed in a compact and robust housing, it withstands the harshest of environments.
5-year warranty. 5-year battery life. Automatic GPS version is also available.
All EPIRBs transmit on both 406 MHz and 121.5 MHz.
- 406MHz is the COSPAS-SARSAT satellite system frequency.
- 121.5 MHz is the International Aircraft Emergency Frequency, providing a homing signal for the Search And Rescue (SAR) services.
